Selling your bike on buycycle is an easy process and part of it involves packing your bike for shipping. We understand the importance of ensuring that your bike reaches its new owner in the same condition it left you, and so we provide you with all the necessary packing materials. Here's how you can safely package your bike for shipping:
Step 1: Receive Your Packing Materials
Once your bike is sold on buycycle, we send you a package containing all the necessary packing materials. This package is shipped to the address you've provided us during registration.
Step 2: Prepare Your Bike
Before packing, you should prepare your bike for shipping. This involves removing the pedals, loosening and turning the handlebars sideways, and removing the front (and sometimes back) wheel.
Step 3: Follow the Packing Guide
To assist you in the packing process, we've prepared detailed guides on how to safely pack your bike. These guides have step-by-step instructions accompanied by images to make the process easier for you.
For road bikes, you can follow our guide here.
For US customers who received a bikeflights medium box, you can follow their guide here.
For mountain bikes, you can follow our guide here.
Packing your bike correctly is crucial in preventing any damage during transit. Our guides have been carefully put together based on best practices to ensure your bike reaches its new owner in optimal condition.
Please make sure your wheels do not directly touch the frame in the packaging box, as this is one of the most common damage reasons.
